Is this how many bananas can be bought in each country for 5 USD or 5 of whatever that country’s dominant money/coinage is? Obviously 5 USD would go much further in Ethiopia than in America, but it should also go further in Australia.

I initially thought the cost in Australia and France must be higher because bananas are likely imported, but it seems Ethiopia isn’t exactly a banana farming paradise. I don’t think they’re particularly common there. So why are they so cheap (whether relative to 5 USD of 5 Ethiopian whatevers)?
